Tim Karth - Drums/vocals

Tim

Tim Karth has been an active member of the Milwaukee metropolitan music scene for the last twenty years. He has played trumpet and drum set/percussion with many diverse organizations from community musical groups to professional theater and wind ensembles. Tim is also an alumnus of beloved The Kids from Wisconsin (1989-90). A 1995 graduate of Carroll College, he has been a clinician and guest conductor for area events and festivals. In October 2003, Tim was one of 12 Milwaukee drummers selected to perform live on stage at the Bradley Center with Shania Twain as part of her Midwest tour He currently teaches music at Pius XI High School as an Associate Director for the Instrumental Music Program, specifically band. He shares the duties of directing with his wife of 15 years, Joelle. When he is not at work or at home with his four children (Sean, Rory, Kari and Devin) he is at church playing drums for Agape, the praise band at Wauwatosa Avenue United Methodist Church or volunteering with Cub Scout Pack 588 or Boy Scout Troop 16.

Tim feels very lucky to be part of RLE. The caliber of the band and the emotions put forth make the music even more memorable and the message even more rewarding

Matthew 7:7 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."

musical influences

My great grandfather played trumpet in the 1930's and 1940's. I was the first in my family to carry that torch when I took up trumpet in 5th grade ( I really wanted to play tuba). Music was part of my life constantly since then. I learned to play the organ in 6th grade, and the drum set in 8th grade when our drummer from our middle school jazz band got kicked out. Since that moment, I wanted to learn every instrument. I also knew at that time that I wanted to be a band director. My musical faith took a larger turn when I played drums for "Godspell" in college and an incredible connection was made. My parents, grandparents and my extended family have been a constant influence me and have been my greatest "fans". Now everything I do musically (play, teach, conduct or compose) is done to praise God and share the message of Jesus.
